Dr. Shefali Desai is one of the directors of Samved Hospital and Chief of the Laparoscopy and Breast Division.

She has been the pioneer to start Laparoscopy in Ahmedabad and Gujarat, way back in 1991 in many hospitals including the teaching hospitals and medical colleges and has trained many surgeons for the same.

At present Associate Professor in Surgery at Kesar Sal medical college and hospital and has been an Assistant Professor in the past at the Civil hospital and V.S. Hospital and has been running the teaching programme there.

She has also pioneered the THREE PUNCTURE METHOD OF LAPAROSCOPIC CHOLECYSTECTOMY where instead of four; three punctures are made so as to have an additional cosmetic benefit. She has also presented a paper for the same at the National Conference.

She has performed various basic and advanced laparoscopic procedures and Breast surgeries for the last 15 years.
